Palmerston North Adventist Christian School (PNACS) is a co-educational Christian school. It is a member of Adventist Education New Zealand, an affiliate of the world-wide Adventist education system; the largest Protestant education system in the world.
Adventist Schools New Zealand operates sixteen schools and caters for more than 1,700 students. It helps to provide a network of resources to give each child an education of the highest quality in an ideal Christian learning environment. Adventist education is built on the belief that each student is unique, and of immeasurable worth. It values the importance of systematic development of the whole person. Students are taught to accept the concept of service as a principle of life; to be sensitive to the needs of people; and to become contributing members in their community.
At the heart of Adventist education is a belief that children achieve true growth when their mental, physical and spiritual needs are met. PNACS upholds these beliefs and, with enviable teacher-to-student ratios, provides a nurturing and caring learning environment where Christian values are upheld. Christian Education in an Adventist School is focused on academic excellence, the development of a healthy lifestyle, strong moral development and a commitment to service in the communities in which we live. In addition, there is the ultimate goal of drawing each pupil into a personal relationship with our Creator God.
As a part of the Adventist independent schools system, PNACS welcomes students from all faiths and cultural backgrounds.
Our teaching and faith values the family and promotes a respect for others and ourselves. Whether your child is an Adventist or follows another faith, we expect these values and principles to be upheld within our school, and request a high standard of conduct both within and outside the school. As a Christian organisation we devote time to worship and learning about God and the Bible. Children participate in Bible classes, hear regular Bible stories and are involved in a weekly chapel service. Worship is a core component of education at PNACS, and all students are encouraged to have a relationship with Jesus. Through our worship and chapel programs, we aim to help the families at our schools raise responsible, mature and well- rounded children with a balance to their lives.
Have you ever wondered what Seventh-day Adventists believe? The Adventist belief system is based on the Bible. Forgiveness, grace and salvation are core to the teachings of the Adventist church. Adventists believe in the second-coming of Jesus Christ, as outlined in the Gospels. Detailed information about Adventists can be found by clicking on the links below or is available on request from the school.
